2000 Stereo Wiring Harness?

Pulled my stereo out of my 95 before trading it in, and before I crack the dash of my 2000, I want to know if it's a wirining harness with one plug or two?

I'm finding a lot of conflicting reports on Crutchfield, scosche.com etc.

Before I waste my time does anyone know?

Thanks,
Bill Burge

i just replaced my radio in my 2000 and it had the cass/cd/fm/am combo unit. If thats what you have, the head unit is connected to a factory amp with one connector, and the factory amp is connected to the standard toyota 2 plug connectors.

If you DON'T want to use the factory amp you can unplug the wires going to the amp (crack the dash take out old radio and the amp is below it, the plugs are on the bottom of the amp near the floor), and hook up your new radio to those 2 plugs with the harness (2 connectors) that most toyotas use.

If you WANT to use the factory amp, then i believe they sell a connector that goes into the amp with some rca plugs that go into the output of your new radio.

i recommend that you bypass the factory amp because it's weak and your radio most likely has more power.

if you have any more questions, i'll try to help you out some more, good luck!
