2000 Prerunner Questions

Hi guys, I've got a few questions about my truck.

1. Who makes the best lift for the prerunners? I already have the TRD package if that matters? I'm looking for a 3-4" lift. Since the prerunner is on a 4x4 platform will the 4x4 lifts work?

2. Who makes some nice front bumpers/ brushguard setups for my truck?

3. Are their any good performance mods out their for the 2.7L. I know they make a K&N gen 2, which I will be getting. Any computer mods? I found out that Magnaflow has a catback, anyone know anything about it? I just traded a 2001 Dakota R/T with 412 RWHP that ran 11.9@113 mph in the 1/4 mile so I'm sorta missing the H.P. a little

4.I was changing my tranny fluid the other day and noticed that the filter that the parts store has for my truck is not the same filter my truck has on it. I came to the conclusion that my truck does not have original tranny. The tranny says RZ on it. My filter looks like it came from a 90-94 tranny. The truck shifts great and I don't see this as a problem, I'm just wondering what tranny I have and from what year it is, so that I can get the correct filter.

Sorry for all questions.. I just like to learn about anything new I get.

Thanks,

Kenny

Kenny,

The search feature will yield more information than you can get from just one thread.
But to start you on your way...

1. From what I understand 3" is the max before you start doing some real damage to your CVs. You can go higher with 4-6" but it's a different kind of lift and you'll be spending $1500 plus.

Try this link for further reading:
http://www.customtacos.com/tech/inde...v2&id=137&c=10

2. That's personal preference I think. A lot of big companies and smaller shops have their own designs. ARB, TJM, DeMello, Badland are the 1st 4 that come to mind.

3. Sorry can't help you there.

4. Sorry can't really help you there either - although, I kind of doubt that you'd have anything other than a rebuilt tranny. There was a thread not too long ago and some people were mentioning the size differences in different filters that were supposed to be for the same engine

Prerunners are 2wd, lift as high as you want.

if you want to do 3" you can get coilovers or spacers for the front, and maybe and add-a-leaf and shackles in the rear. whole setup would less than 500 if you do spacers, or closer to 1000 with the coilovers. keep in mind that the higher you crank coilovers, the stiffer the ride will be. spacers are just stiff to start out with...

Yea, I wrote pretty much what you did, but had to go take care of something before I could finish the response, so when I came back I reloaded the thread and read it again and caught that, but by then, you had posted what I was going to say.
