I just finished installing an aftermarket alarm myself, and if you get creative enough, you could adapt the current alarm that you have to trigger the dome lights to come on. It would just involve getting a little creative with some relays and doing your own wiring into the dome light control.
A system that comes to mind involves a timer circuit and a relay triggered by the factory disarm wire. Btw - my new rig is a 2000 and doesnt have the interior lighting with the factory alarm

That's what I was beginning to think. It seems like DEI sells some pulse timer relays that might do the job.
I do think though that the RS3200+ does do the auto lock/unlock (though DEI sells a module for that too, 428), but having it part of the alarm would be preferrable. If I can get that part working, then the courtesy lights I can work on secondarily.
