2000 4Runner Rear Brakes Sticking
Monday morning when I went to leave for work, I put the truck in drive and realized my driver side rear brake was sticking. So I reversed and drove foward a few times and it released. Well I had originally thought it was my parking brake sticking and just needed adjusted. So I've left the brake off the past few nights, and the same wheel keeps sticking in the morning. I haven't taken anything apart yet, but there isn't any differential oil dripping inside the wheel. Anyone have any suggestions?

So why haven't you taken it apart yet?
Pop the wheel and drum off, take a look and let us know what you see.
Make sure your ebrake bell crank is operating freely.

Try taking the drums off and cleaning out all the dust, for real. An air compressor works well. It fixed the same problem with mine. If that doesn't fix it the rears may need to be adjusted.

I've got a similar issue. My rear driver brake drags all the time. I've opened it all up and cleaned everything really well. Made sure everything moves the way it should and put grease in the appropriate spots. Also adjusted the parking brake (which I rarely use since it's an auto trans). It stays free for a few days and then it adjusts itself back to where it drags. Not sure what's going on.....

If it's just dusty and/or muddy take a water hose to them. Hit them with some brake cleaner.
If there is light oil then brake cleaner will clean them up. If there is a lot of gear oil on the shoes then the shoes will stick to the drums. Also you can't clean heavy leakage off the shoes, it soaks in.
