2.7L exhaust
My 97 4 runner is needing some love, I have a cracked exhaust manifold,(not major yet) muffler that needs to go, etc... My issue is cost benefit: How can I best take care of the exhaust system for a max of $600 parts cost.(and maybe upgrade a bit in the process) I also wanted to keep it kind of simple- I don't have a full shop, welding equip. etc.. just basic know how and tools. I'd like to do a compatible, bolt on header- but need to prioritize after that due to financial constraints. Any help or suggestions appreciated.

What ever you do for the cracked manifold, do NOT buy a Pacesetter Header, the are a junk 2 piece design that leaks like no other. i've had one on my 98 2.7 tacoma for about 11 months and i've already replaced the collector gasket 4 times(1st one was a week after the header was installed) and 3 EGR gaskets.

its a "header" but its not a long tube header, and it bolts up to the factory downpipe. retains factory holes for EGR and other smog related things. but its made of steel instead of cast. ( wont crack )
