2-1/2" polyurethane Daystar front & rear shock spacers/lift kit

Does anyone have any experience with the 2-1/2" polyurethane Daystar front & rear shock spacers/lift kit for a 2002 4Runner? I am contemplating putting these on my truck, and would like some feedback/suggestions to whether they are good, if you would suggest an alternative vendor, and where to buy them for a reasonable price. etc.

Any information is appreciated.

When I saw your name I thought you were from badlands Indiana....

anywho, the daystar lift is probably the cheapest lift you can get. Most people say it's not really good for off-roading, however if you don't offroad often, and just want more clearance and a better look then that would be a good route for you. I know a bunch of people with the daystar lift that enjoy it. Also the PP (performance products) lift springs are pretty well too if you are going to stay in that category. But if you are going to replace the springs, you might as well want to replace the shocks.

Now if you go off-roading and want a better ride there, then you have a lot of options, but it also depends on your money situation. If you gots the dough, I'd go with a saw/ome or a saw/downey combo. I plan on going OME's all around when I get my paycheck. But if you plan on putting a steel bumper like ARB, or TJM in front, you'd want to go with the adjustable shocks in the front like the SAWs or Downeys.

As for places to get them, I personally reccommend Mike at xtremeoff-road. www.xtremeoff-road.com He is a member on the boards and even though I've only bought one thing with him, he is a real good guy and can get you awesome deals.

Welcome to the boards!!

I'm running the Daystar 2 1/2" kit on my 2000 for the past couple of years. I'm 95% on-road and have never had any issues. If going off-road, I'm sure others can suggest a different kit because I'm not sure how the Daystar does that way.

Also look into Cornfed or Revtek if you want a spacer lift.

I had the same kit on my 2002 I bought it off of Ebay for $225. It worked like it said it would. Kept the geometry of the truck the same, while lifting it 2.5 inches. I went off roading with it a few times, and it held up just fine. When I got the new front bumper, I had to switch to SAWs, but I am still running the rear spacers, and its fine. I will be removng the rear spacers later this month, if my new rear bumper goes in.

Easy to install, easy to remove, easy to maintain. The only problem is if you plan on doing other upgrades to your truck to make it more off road capable, your going to end up replacing them down the line.

hope this helps

I have been running the daystar 2.5 in the front for about 10K now and I haven't had any problems, though I am told that the upper ball joint may hit the spring with full droop.

I have the OME springs and shocks in the rear and I love them.

I got my Daystar kit from Wheeler's and my OME's from Xtreme, both great guys to work with.

Check the yota link above for pictures of the Daystar spacer causing a hit on the coil.

The Daystar spacers have been removed and are for sale if you're interested in a cosmetic lift.
