1st Gen Wobbly Dealer Option Mirrors...
Hey guys....I have heard several people say their 1st Gen has the wobbly dealer option mirrors. Mine has the as well and I just looked at them to see if I could make them more stable(less wobbly).
I found one screw that attaches the mirror housing to the frame. BE SURE THIS IS TIGHT. Then move the mirror to the further most outward position and look behind it....you will see two set screws that allow addjustment of the mirror housing. Mine were loose and allowed the housing to move all over. I thightend them all up and positioned them where I wanted it and....NO MORE WOBBLY......maybe this will help some people?
Maybe I am stating the obvious and I just figured it out for myself!

Wow. Thanks for the tip. My d/s mirror wobbles really badly. Thought it was permamnent condition and had already relegated it as being part of my 87's "character". I'll try the fix this weekend. H

I tried that but my problem is the rubber gaskets are split and need to be replaced. Am going to eventually try a rebuild on one but it's not bad enough yet.

I have an 89 with the electric side mirrors. I wanted to replace them new, but the price is outrageous. I've tighten everything and the mirror still wobles - actually the mount wobbled and the mirror it self wobles. So I used black electrical tape and wrapped it around the crease below the mirror housing to keep that steady! lol but the mirror still wobles, but it's tolerable.
