Smile 1st gen V8 4runner.. suspension ideas

The Bilstien shocks shocks that came with the vehicle when I bought it are shot. I'm not sure weathrer to attemp to rebuild or replace them w/ newer, I want to keep cost down... I'm open to any sugestions.

You'll probably get more responses in the main section, moving it there...

I don't believe the stock style Bilsteins are rebuildable, at least mine weren't. What year is this and how much lift?

I have an 87 SR5, and the shocks are older Bilstien resivours
