Are you getting a lift kit from Downey?
If you aren't, I don't think I would go for a set of new springs. Chances are you will want a lift before you need new springs again and that would be wasted money. I need to fix my 1 gen rear end sag too, but I think I'm going to go with an add-a-leaf so I don't spend a lot twice. I know they say the add-a-leafs make it stiffer, but frankly, my whole set of leaves are perfectly flat, sitting on my over load bar. In my case anything would be better. Don't know if yours are to that point. Just my .02 Let us know what you decide. ![]() Erich

No, not really going for all out lift.... I am fine with 31's. Just wanted to get a little more flex out of the ifs and be gone of the sag in the rear. Yeah, mine are already on the overloads right now and need help of some kind, just figured new springs might do the job.

Have you looked at the thread about putting the airshocks to relieve the rear sag? If you are not going for a lift anyway. that would be a cool way of doing it.

Yeah... thought about the airshock fix but figured it might eventually sag again once the shocks took a dump. Leaf replacement seems to be a better idea to permanently fix the sag
and I might just do some stout torsion bars up front. I will take some pics as I do the work to show you guys what all I am doin and how it all turns out!!! Also haven't made up my mind yet on a locker or posi yet... I want onroad handling as well as offroad. Can't afford an ARB or Electric locker so I will compromise on maybe a Detroit gearless or a NoSlip from trutrack. What do you guys think would be best??? |

I am just dealing with the sag until I can afford a lift. the full kit as about $700, and I can install (most likely screw up) it myself.
The kit comes with the rear leafs. Then all I will have to get is better torsion bars. I would love to get the new ARB for front IFS. But that will be a while. At least until my pimp pays me what he owes me. I would go with the limited slip from trutrack. It will do all you need unless you are a serious rock crawler. Be sure to get before and after pics.
