1st gen dash removal

I have a couple burnt out dash lights. Anyone replace the bulbs before?
What is the procedure for removing the dash?

Thanks

Before you go tearing that thing apart, you only have to take off one section of your dash. The first gen trucks/runners use a 3 piece dash. The left upper, the right upper, and the bottom which is the base for all of it. I believe it is about 6 screws, and you can tkae the surround off from around the instrument cluster. Then its 4 more screws to dake out the instrument cluster. and Viola! THe thing comes out. Take note: You MUST reach behind there and undo the speedo cable (its just a platic clip) before trying to remove the whole thing, or you'll mess up your speedo cable.

As mentioned before, it's a piece of cake, just look for the screws around the instrument cluster. Hell I have done it so many times I can have my cluster out in under 2 minutes, no joke . My first time took forever, I couldn't remove the spedo cable. Here is some advice, pop the hood and pull the spedo cable out of the little plastic holder. This will allow about an inch of slack so you can get your hand behind the cluster to remove it. Be sure and disconnect your neg battery terminal as well, just to be safe. While your in there you could add some bling bling and put some different color bulbs if you like. I would also reccommend putting a bulb condom over the light that comes on with the brights, it is too bright for my liking and reflects on the windshield.

Even easier

What you do is pop off the 4 plastic handels on the control levers, move all of them to the middle position, and then take a small flat head screw driver and gently pry from left to right, it will just pop right off. Pull out the little clear plastic lens and pop the tiny little bulb out. Walla your done.
