1st Gen Bumper ?

I've noticed the similarities in bumpers from the early 4Runners to the newer body style in the P/U. My question is, will the bumpers from 89-92 P/U's fit a 1st Gen 4Runner?

Probably not directly, the pickup bumpers mount to the frame, specifically the outside of the frame. On the 4Runner frame, the back pair of body mounts is located, you guessed it, on the outside of the frame. The 4Runner bumpers mount to the body for that very reason. You could probably modify the brackets to fit inside the frame where the factory hitch would normally bolt to. And up front, the later model bumpers attach to the sides of the frame, the early bumpers attach to the front of the frame:

Cool, thanks for the tip, I'll probably mod it. I do NOT want to place one of those cheap tin bumpers with plastic end caps back on it. Plus, the newer bumpers look a lot nicer.
