1st Gen 4Run O2 Sensor Problems
Ok so I put a new O2 sensor in my truck because the old one was done. I drive the thing for 2 months and now the O2 code is getting thrown by the computer. I checked the signal its putting out and its definately junk. has anyone had this problem before? someone mentioned that the aftermarket O2's (from a parts store) are up to par with a dealer O2. I think I just got a bad one to begin with but who knows... Any comments or suggestions?

Did you get it someplace like Autozone? Perhaps it is still under warranty.
Also, make sure and clear the ECU after changing the o2 so it knows to make the necessary changes.
I recently pulled my o2 and soaked it with throttle body cleaner (since it specifically stated it wouldn't harm o2 sensors), cleared the ECU and put it all back together and was pretty impressed with the change. The truck was running rich and now seems to be running at a much better mix.
The o2 I just cleaned was an Autozone replacement and I haven't had any problems with it so far.
