Hey guys. My clutch is slipping in my truck. I am not looking forward to this task but I have a roommate who wants to help. Recently I was taking off from a stop light and in every gear the RPMS would shoot up real quick with no acceleration. I have 168,000 on a stock clutch. I learned how to drive stick in this truck and I just towed a uhaul 1500 miles. I am not surprised it is on it way out I am picky about the parts I put in my truck and price is always a factor. Here are my two options. which one would you put in your truck and why?

marlin has a great reputation on there 1600 pounds clutches, they take tons of abuse and its what i plan on useing when my stock clutch goes out

Of the 2 you listed I would go with Marlin Crawler

Although I am quite Happy with my Luk clutch

Not real sure which one is in the 92 4Runner but i like the feel of it.

Where do I get a genuine toyota kit? How much is it?

ive got a marlin in my truck. It feels a hell of a lot better than the two factory Toyota clutches I've had in my truck. Better engagement, holds more, and has a softer pedal than the factory clutch did.

Marlin clutch for sure. Toyota "updated" their factory disc. It sucks. Very noisy. Marlin uses aisin parts. As far as I know its the same as factory before toyota "updated"

I have a clutch from LC in my 4runner. I love it and cannot complain about it at all. I got the Pro-Clutch kit with 1,800 pounds of gripping force. I am also pleased to say that is very easy to push the pedal in. LC's clutches are made by Clutchmasters which is a very reputable company. Their kits also come with the new style throwout bearing that is built in to the carrier so you do not have to deal with the metal clips, bearing removal, and bearing installation. I also went ahead and replaced my master and slave cylinders while I had my rig apart. I tend to be very picky when it comes to doing things to my runner. I do not buy junk parts and I have zero tolerance for questionable work. The money I spent on my set up was very reasonable and the product so far has exceeded my expectations.

I've heard a lot of good things about the MC, esspecially when doing heavy duty work. I picked up an Aisin clutch kit when my clutch fell apart (literally) in my 98' and am very pleased. Pedal effort is great and engagement is very smooth; makes for an easy DD. Price was pretty good as well.

Just put in a Marlin 1200 last night . so far the pedal is lighter then factory.the release when letting the clutch out fast is lighter the factory I have not abused it yet until I can fully break it in.

I just replaced a clutch on a 2000 tacoma with 138,000. It had the original clutch wich was really really stiff in the pedal. I replaced with a OEM new style clutch and it felt buttery smooth and easy to drive.
