1996 4runner limited 4x4?

ok, I'm looking into upgrading to reliable transportation first, offroader a close 2nd.

What are your thoughts on a 1996 4runner limited 4x4 with 65K miles? recalls to watch for? prices? anything...
(KBB prices it around 12125)

Thats pretty low miles for a '96...I think there was a head gasket recall for '96 and some '97. Also, the rear coils were recalled, so if it sags, then it probably hasn't had that recall performed. They are great trucks. I would suggest you just go out and test drive a few different years and model just to get a feel for them, then when the right one comes a long, you'll know...

IIRC, the KBB values are the highest book, with NADA and Edmunds usually a little lower...You need to look at all three and base your offer on what "feels" right. Good luck!

I've been very happy with mine. No problems and I have 82K on the dial now. Very good all around traveler.

You can get the VIN and have a dealer check to see what bulletins apply.
