1995.5 Tacoma's OBDII compliant?

A friend's 1995.5 Tacoma is throwing a check engine light. Are they OBDII compliant (hopefully yes, because I have a reader)? If not, what's the procedure to read the codes? Is it the old paperclip trick of the older toys?

I think they are OBD I if I am not mistaken, which would make it the paperclip trick, yes, but being a half year change, they may have gone ahead and gone to OBD II as 1996 is the first year of OBD II....Sorry I am no help...either way any local autozone can read the codes for free..

Mine is, the connector is on the right side, by the knee, it's blue in colour, I've cleared my codes many times now.

Yeah, I've had the truck for a month, I've cleared like 10 codes, I should clarify the connector is on the drivers side, by your right knee.

Yep. If a Tacoma has one, that is where it is. My 2001 and 2002's both have it and I have plugged into many others. But, my '95 didn't.

Maybe it's a CDN thing? I know weve had some cars with OBD since ~94

Could be. It wasn't an "official" standard that everyone had to follow down here until '96.
