1995.5 Tacoma's OBDII compliant?
A friend's 1995.5 Tacoma is throwing a check engine light. Are they OBDII compliant (hopefully yes, because I have a reader)? If not, what's the procedure to read the codes? Is it the old paperclip trick of the older toys?

I think they are OBD I if I am not mistaken, which would make it the paperclip trick, yes, but being a half year change, they may have gone ahead and gone to OBD II as 1996 is the first year of OBD II....Sorry I am no help...either way any local autozone can read the codes for free..

Yep. If a Tacoma has one, that is where it is. My 2001 and 2002's both have it and I have plugged into many others. But, my '95 didn't.
