Talking 1994 4Runner 100 MPH speedo pic

I've always thought speedo pics are cool. I've got a few on my F7 doing 115. Anyway, I was on a long road trip and had a nice stretch of straight with nobody around, so I opened it up for a minute. I had the speedo buried for a few seconds, probably 115 or so, but I ran out of room and had to let off. Felt like 115 was about all it had in it.

So here ya go. I thought it wasn't too bad for an underpowered 4x4. That thing is slower than a snail accelerating, but it seems like once you pass 70 MPH it does fine.

The almost 4500 RPM is just as scary I shifted into 3rd at 4500 once in my 3.0, and swore I'd never do that again. Didn't sound so good.

??? I tac mine out to 5-6 grand quite frequently. Sounds perfectly healthy. When towing my trailer, I have to cruise at 4500 rpm uphill a lot.

Well, it's not that it sounded like it was going to blow up or anything, just at around 4000 the motor got much deeper and louder, and I could feel it beneath my feet. You're right, it was probably perfectly fine, I just try to baby it.

You're a brave, brave man. I hold my breath if I have to push mine past 80mph.

My truck is very smooth on the freeway, on a recent trip to moses lake we were cruzing at about 95-100 (indicated) for a while. My old 22re still has SOME power.

Many years ago I hit 140+ in my 1990 Supra...and was terrified. I just can't fathom pushing a truck to that speed on any less that a 12 pack of Olde English and some mighty powerful ganja.

ive topped my 22re past 115 a few times...yeah..it shakes...

I topped my RX7 (non-turbo) at 168 on the freeway once...and it cruises at 140, 150 without tooo much problem. Never scared me...but then again...when i take sport bikes out..160 is nothen.

as long as you got room, no traffic ahead of you, and decent pavement...open er up! ya beat em up, and they love ya for it! god i love toyodas!

my gps told me i hit 105 once... really didnt mean to, everyone on the highways here cruises at 90. when you hit a downhil part, its tough to realize you're running over 100.

i usually go around 85-90... as long as others are travelling that fast too of course!

I wasnt in drive once and pulled out hard and it didnt come out of 2nd! DID not sound good at all!!!!!!! Ive had my 88 "when it was stock with Ranchos and 235/70-15 street tires" to 100 quite often. There was a section of highway on my way home that was about a 3 mile drop that was basically strait and an arrow, traffic flows at or around 80-90 on this hill daily... NOW at 75-80 my truck feels very unstable when I change lanes or move over for any reason.. I need to buy sway bar discos and reinstall my bars!
