1993 V6 Tranny Shifting Question

My automatic tranny shifts right through 3rd gear. Will not stay in 3rd at all no matter if I am cruising or under full throttle? Any ideas why?

Thanks!!

Are all of the other shifts ok? Is the 1-2 shift at the proper time? Does it basically shift from 2 to 4?

It shifts good from 1-2, then into 3rd for a very short time and then it goes right into 4th. So, I basically hit high revs in 2nd, then when it goes through 3rd into 4th, I am at low revs. And I have little power in 4th at the low revs I am at.

It sounds as if you may have a worn valve body / clogged shift solenoid situation.

Is this going to be expensive to have checked and fixed?

I would pull the codes for the trans(same as the engine) and go from there. Also check the fluid(small thing but often overlooked). Once you get a code we can definitley help point you in the right direction. Let us know what code you get. Also let us know what engine trans combo you have so we have more info to go on.

Not cheap.

Keep in mind I'm also shooting from the hip here, based on my past experience. It is difficult to diagnose a transmission with 100% accuracy without actually having it at my shop and driving it.
