1988 V6 gearing questions

Hi guys, I’m not even sure what gears my 1988 3.0 automatic pickup has but I am getting ready to run 33x9.50 tires and want to get it geared so it will run like stock or even a little lower than stock to give me a little more power. I’ve never re-geared anything before so I don’t even know where to begin. My rear end sounds like crap, I ran the stock spare that was a 225/75-15 for a while on the rear while my other tires were 31's and it chewed something up, that was a long time ago before I knew it would damage anything! How do I find out what gears I currently have now? What gear ratio would you run to turn the 33's and make it close to stock or like I said even a little bit better than it is now, my 3.0 even with the intake and exhaust is still kind of a dog.. damn automatic trans  Thanks again

You most likely have 4.30s. There is a chance of 4.10s. 4.88s will be close for 33s. 5.29s will be noticeably lower than stock.
