18" magnaflow too loud...options?
So I know i can replace it but with what? DO I get a 24" or a different brand? I really want it as silent as it could be. I am embarrassed sometimes driving in my neighborhood with such a loud muffler. I dont know much about this stuff and have heard of resonators but not even sure if it is an option for me. Any ideas would be great. I have looked though muffler threads for a while and they all seem to be dominated by people who want louder mufflers. I thought I did and realize now it is not for me. Thanks for any help.

The previous owner of the truck I bought had a loud free flow muffler installed. I kept on for a week and then changed it back to stock. Maybe I'm just gettin old but I want to hear my stereo or be able to hold a conversation with someone without having to shout.
The 22RE is reliable and virtually bullet proof but is no power house to begin with. My truck and I travel in stealth mode and don't embarrass ourselves by being all noise and no go.

if you want quiet.. go oem
if you still want a little rumble keep looking, cus I got a 24" magnaflow thinkin it would be low and it's generously loud. I've got some videos somewhere on here.

3 chamber flowmaster on my 3.4 swap with downey headers....Quiet, good rumble, a little raspy at high RPMs though but I don't think I can get rid of that without another resonator or something.

I have a 24" Magnaflow and it's too loud. I can't wait to replace it. Same thing here - I'd buy a stock muffler, but - unless it's going to be from an '02 from sunny Florida...
