15" Rim fitment on '98 4Runner

Had this posted in the 2nd Gen fourm before I tried fitment but now I have a 3rd generation question...

I have some 15x8 rockcrawlr wheels from an '86 4Runner and am trying to get them to fit my 98' 4Runner. The rears went on fine but the front has the upgraded brakes (16" rim = bigger brakes I guess?). Is there anyway to fit the 15x8's?

It looks like the 15" diameter is too small since it barely interfers with the outer most edge of the caliper. I was thinking I could file down the caliper body a little... bad idea or good idea? Thanks

you could just change to the smaller base model caliper/rotor setup...

ha, yeah. Big brakes are fun though, any way as far as spacing/modifying current set up? If that is my only option I think I'd rather sell these rims and tires and pick up the proper size. In case I go the other route, does anybody know the power difference between the bigger brakes and the regular ones?

Your better off getting bigger rims than downgrading your brakes.

No way to fit them unless you get some big crazy 3" wheel spacers.
