120 amp Alt for 3.0.
I've been searching for a reasonable higher amperage alternator for quite a while. I emailed Mr. Alternator since they didn't have an application listed for the Toy 3.0. For a 120 amp bolt-in replacement, they want $200 + $10 to ship (to Pittsburgh anyway). For an extra $25 they will powdercoat the case any color you want. I'm going to go with bright yellow... They also do polished cases - no sure how much $$$. Just thought I'd share.

I'd do that too but I can't use an aftermarket alt if I am to compete in the street division of db drag. (And because I'm scared of messing with the distributor to exchange alts...lol)
After you do the switch, be sure to upgrade the wires to at least 4ga. (the wire from the alt to the battery, and I dont know if our alts have a ground or not, but if they do, upgrade that too.) The battery's 3 grounds will also need the 4ga treatment. (The block, frame, and chassis.) This will be sure to deliver the most from your alt. (That 4ga upgrade is usually called the "big three".)

I haven't looked at the 4Runner one, but if it's a direct bolt in, it will use the stock plug into the alt. I'm not sure if I can upgrade that part (I will if it's possible though) I did do that on the Celica I competed with. I had to make a new bracket to handle a Phoenix Gold unit (It was a rewound GM unit with extenal reg). Good idea to upgrade the "big three" I hadn't thought of that.
