05 Tacoma
Was at the dealer the other day talking to salesman friend and looking at 04 4Runners. He said they had just seen pics and specs on 05 Taco. It will be built on 4Runner platform and be available with the 4.0 and a new 4.5 V8.
Anyone have pics?
Does Toyota have a new truck V8 in the works?
I love my 03 Taco but it is very dated compared with the new 4Runner.

yeah, that's just a test mule. 4R front with tundra or T100 bed.
From what I saw, I like the Tacoma front end better than the 4R. It looks more aggressive.

Rob,
They won't bust you unless you post a pic. C'mon and at least tell us your impressions and the styling differences between the 4R and Taco or how it evolved from the current Taco.

Highly doubt that they'll add the v8 to the tacoma mix as the tundra uses the same engine....
most likely the new v8 engine will go towards the tundra and then eventually streamline the old v8 engine to the tacoma...

a 4.5L V8, why would Toyota waste their time making an engine 2 liters smaller then the 4.7 I-Force
I would say the next gen Tacoma would get the 4.7 but hard to say if it would be something like the 4Runner where they make it available from the start or maybe they would hold it off a year or 2 until the next version of the I-Force comes out that will be 5.X cause then the 4.7 would be the smaller version so it could be used.
Nissan's Frontier is suppost to be the size of a Dakota with a V8 options so Toyota can't lack, nomore Tundra mistakes get it right the 1st time
The people at the dealerships only know what comes off the trucks and that they sell, the Nissan dealer I use to do business with did not know anything till it was in front of their faces

Anybody know if there's any talk of doing a pass-thru gate like the avalanche on the new DoubleCab?
Does " built off the 4Runner platform " mean that it'll have coils in the back instead of leafs?

They deffinately need to have a v-8 available for everything and an even bigger v-8 for the tundra. Thats one reason I would never buy a tundra they have boat anchor performace compared with other fullsizes.
