Here the scoop old 88 22re truck finally needed replaced. I love Toyota trucks so searched for one that would last found so many with high mileage, then got a 04 6cyl SR5 TRD one owner nice looking rig 85K. The dude said he never had a problem never did anything but oil changes. So its very clean under the hood.. It stated having a slight miss just a quick loss of power going down the freeway, I had hope the 90K mile service with new fuel filter might take care of this but did not. Now this will happen in spurts might run just fine around town for several days then act up for several. I get this mostly around 2200 RPM I will add it sometimes falls flat taking off from a stop, will also add several times it started this after running perfect on a weekly trip to a doctor 35 miles there 20 minutes shut down with in the dr then start up and it immediately starts doing it. I have had a pretty good guy trying to figure this out he replaced the 1 Air Fuel Ratio Sensor 2 Crankshaft Position sensor 3 Camshaft position sensor.Still no relief So I had a a pretty good guy with a dyno tune have a look he thought it was in one of the two TPS on the TB was getting a 8% different reading between the two he said I should have the dealer look at it, Its not throwing codes BTW. So back to Fred he wanted to check the tps sensors on a ohm meter will not sure why he decided not to instead he tapped wires into most all the sensors to his computer ran a pressure gage into the the fuel line, While he did all this he cleaned the MAF sensor and it ran perfect so we thought we had it and it ran great three weeks went goofy again replaced the MAF sensor still no relief. So again the symptom's are for the most part running at a steady throttle it has a repeated quick recovery loss of power. One thing interesting I did a 200 mile road trip the other day in 5th gear at 2200 RPM did it constantly I had to slow down went to 4th gear for about 15 miles 2750 or so RPM no miss. I'm really at a loss here I apologize for such a long winded post.. Thanks for any help, Really Im looking for my next step I can keep throwing in new parts or take to the dealer this 04 does not have the throttle by wire I hear about
