Going to work this morning I was in some slower traffic. I was cruising at about 60-65 mph. Usual I'm hauling at 70+ all the time. I couldn't help but notice this weird driveline vibration that only seems to radiate through the gas petal at 60-65 mph. I believe some others have complained about this? Anyone complain to the dealer with a successful fix?

I also notice the truck will occasionally exhibit a driveline clunk after you come to a complete stop? Again I remember others complaining about this. Any have a dealer who successfully found a fix?

I had an issue with my driveshaft but that was due to my offroading adventures. I ended up with a dented driveshaft that required some replacing.

But I assume that you haven't done any of that so I wouldn't be able to tell you what might be wrong.

As for the second one, don't know...

Oops, forgot to mention that. This truck has never seen offroad use yet. I have a feeling that the driveline vibration is just a natural vibe from the tranny doing it's thing. I just never cruise at the 60-65 mph speed.

Goodtimes, I hate to find out how much a new driveshaft set you back, ouch!

I've got the same vibration... only happens with throttle applied in the 55-65mph range. It's apparently a common complaint with V8 models. My dealer said wait until the first service interval and see if it goes away (I've got 3K on it now). It was really bad when I first got the vehicle but has subsided somewhat (still quite noticable).
I figure it's some sort of harmonic frequency type vibration in either the transmission or the engine. You may notice that if you flip the gear selector over to "4" while the vibration is occurring, it stops.
I had similar problems with the 99 F-250 that I traded in on the Toyota and spent seemingly endless trips to the dealer trying to get it resolved... after about a year, it went away on its own. I figure something (engine mounts, bushings, springs, etc.) "softened" enough to change the harmonic frequency enough that the problem didn't occur. Hopefully this one will go away by itself too.

Thanks for the input. That's exactly the vibration I'm speaking about. I have 11K on my truck. It will be 1 yr. old in January. Still the vibration. Seem to notice it more now that it's cold out. Weird! I do believe that it is the harmonic vibration others have refered to. Let off the gas and it goes away. Very weird!

No vibration here but plenty of GX470 owners have complained about it on clublexus.com, several of them have had 2 GX's the 1st being bought back.

They say it's the Dunlops but that may or may not be.

I get the clunk sometimes but no big deal.

I've also noticed in reverse with the wheel fully turned it might vibrate slightly but thats normal

The "clunk while stopping" has been covered multiple times. It is the slip joint that needs lube.

Which slip joint are you speaking about? Is there a grease fitting zerk on the slip joint? I'm religious about greasing all 9 zerks on the driveline. That hasn't seemed to help the problem.

Well, I have a similiar story...
I took my truck to the dealer one day to fix a squeaking problem coming from the driveshaft, and while he was in the car with me trying to diagnose the noise, I asked him about the clunking that occurs when you come to a stop, or in my case as well, accelerate quickly from a stop. He basically told me that I have a 2 piece driveshaft and when its not lubricated properly, they 'clunk' together when you stop or go. I also lubricate my zerks regularly, and it still hasnt made the problem go away I might try taking it to a mechanic and see if they know of any special way to do it.
I know this probably didnt help, but misery loves company right?

got a link and if the slip joint needs lube that means Lexus did not do a very good job of greasing them

The slip yoke or joint. It is as Pretacopower described and I had it on my Nissan too. Actually any live rear axle will do that.

Anyway, I remember a few guys shot a TON of grease in there before they saw the slip joint slightly expand.
