I have been wanting to mount some lights one the fron of my '03, but didn't really want to drill through the bumper itself. I was looking down behind the bumper and there is a beam going across. I was wondering how hard it would be to make some bracketsto be mounted to that beam that would go through one of the lower openings and thenhave the lights mounted to them. Depending on the height of the lights, the brackets might have to dip down, so the lights aren't sticking up above the bumper. Here is what it would look like. Just let me know what you think.

I'm assuming the beam you are referring mounting the brackets to is a metal one? If it is, I would think you'd be fine. But if it is plastic, I would think the brackets/lights would move around too much when driving.

I could probably do that, but then again, wouldn't be easier and better for your confidence to get one in real life.

Oh no, they would deffinately have to be metal. I was almost thinking they would have to be either 3/16" or 1/4" steel.

I think the area you wanted to mount them in would be OK, but I would like to see the beam you are talking about. Can you take and up close picture of it and how the brackets would stick out of your lower grill/valence?
