Talking '03 4Runner with Tacoma Skid plate....

fourunnabilly get full credit for this. I had seen he had installed the skid plate on his and I did the same except for making some brackets to make it stick out the same distance as the 3rd gens. Of course it is only for looks.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks.

It really wasn't too bad. I would say the hardest part was cutting the steel strips with a hacksaw. If you go to this thread I have some pics and steps I took.

Momo,

Looks really sweet! One question. Where did you get the silver grill? Did yours come from the factory that way or did you paint it yourself?

Forget my grill question. I just noticed your hood scoop. Sport Edition would have the silver grill. It's hard to see on a black truck. As Homer Simpson says, "Doh!":pat:

Momo, looks good man. I had the same set-up on my '02 Sport. How much $$ did the project end up costing you?

I got the skid plate on ebay for $90. I am not sure how much I spent at Home Depot on the actual parts I used. Each time I went there, I was buying a bunch of other stuff, plus I was buying different size bolts and washers to try out. If I had to guess, it wouldn't be any more than $15 or $20 for all the hardware.

Hey Mo, I did the same thing with mine (skid plate). It was really easy and kinda provides a bridge to the previous Runners that have ruled the world!

Nice work on the skid plate by the way, it looks good!

Thanks again to you for planting the seed....

Some guy actually followed me into a parking lot today in his sport and asked me if it was a Sport option. It was pretty cool having something that isn't an option that I did myself.
