02 TRD Tacoma

I just picked up a 02 Taco and have few questions about it, It has a 2in Skyjacker suspention lift in it which I beleive is too stiff, the coils are wound down about 2 in from the top. If I unwind them will it loose the height, or just soften up the ride, I hope. Next, it is fully loaded so would that mean that it would have factory keyless entry, I want to know if I get a remote will it work, how can I tell. Finaly the clutch is not engaging till right at the top, its not slipping but I dont like where its at can I adjust this some how.
Im sure I will have more questions, so for now thats it.

Not sure about your front suspension... Is it adjustable coil-over shocks? I think if you adjust them the lower the hight the softer the ride. As far as the keyless entry you can just pick one up from the dealer or probably even ebay and do a search to find out how to program it.

As for the clutch. Could be that your gettin to the end of its life. How many miles on the truck? But there is a nut on the rod that is connected to the back of you clutch. crawl in there and loosen that nut. then you should be able to turn the rod itself and it might snug things up a bit. i cant tell you which way to turn it. Just experiment with it and find what works.

Good luck

Oh Yeah, they are adjustable coilovers and the nut is cranked down on them, are you saying that it will lower it.

under neath the radio there is a small piece of trim that meets the carpet. if there is a black box with a red light that says security or something of that nature then you probably have keyless

I guess I dont then cause I just have 2 lighter outlets, Oh well they are easy enough to put keyless in when there is power locks allready. Im kinda dissapointed about the coil overs though, I figured loosening them would just soften up the ride not lower them.

what are you comparing the ride too? they ride a little rougher than most trucks

what size wheels and tires?

what air pressure, the stock tires they recommend 26psi in the fronts and 28 in the rears

I run mine 28 all the way around

As of your suspension. Adjusting coilovers up will loose height and will barelly affect the stiffness of the ride as you still run the same coil in coilover it basically slide your neutral point up and offer you more downtravel. Nomatter how you adjust your coilover the coil will remain same length under the truck load as it supports same load, unless it reaches limits.
As of remote, you can buy and programm one at the dealer, but its expensive. When I bought my '01 4Runner it came with one key and one remote. I went to the dealer for more. Key cost me $50 and remote $250. I opted just for the keys.

The truck has 265/75/16 on some aftermarket rims, there is not alot of clearance and the front mud flaps are missing which leads me to believe that they probably got torn off from rubbing which seems odd because they are only a smidge bigger than stock, with this so called 2in lift there should be no problems right, I wonder if the rims are too inset. The clucth is pretty much smoked so now I need to sorce one out, any opinions on what to get.
