02 headlight upgrade

so as many of you know the 4runner have drl and mine just has the stock headlight bulb so it looks yellowish and i have piaa 80 series on my bumper and the 520 series in the bumper so the light color is way off. i was leaning towards piaa over ipfs if any one has any reasons ipfs are better please let me know! i was looking up info and i came across the headlight wiring upgrade is this a big help on headlight brightness or just some bs?

'02 headlights look good, but they won't be any different in color unless you get some different bulbs for them as well (which can just as easily be done with your stock lights). Upgrading the headlight harness may make them slightly brighter but will still look yellow against "blue" PIAA's.

Your cheapest option is probably to buy PIAA bulbs for your stock lights (~$50), followed by '02 headlights with PIAA bulbs (~$250 assuming OEM), or you could do a projector retrofit with 4500K HID's (~$400).

Just as I said, the cheapest option is just changing the bulbs in your stock lights. Next would be upgrading to '02 lights with new bulbs, which would provide similar color but more light output.
