02 bank 1 sensor 1....sensor 2? OBD2 reader help
so i'm having a P0240 code. which i'm thinking is either a bad 02 sensor or bad catalytic converter(s).
screwing around with my Torque app on my phone and i can look up the bank 1 sensor 2 voltage. but i cant get any other info from any other banks (1 or 2) or sensor #'s (bank 1 sensor 1 etc etc)
question is, since the exhaust is a 2 into 1 system, both O2 sensors would be bank 1. upstream sensor would be bank 1 sensor 1 and downstream sensor should be bank 1 sensor 2 correct?
since i'm getting a voltage reading from bank 1 sensor 2 but none of the others, i'm assuming bank 1 sensor 1 could be bad?
any ideas to knowledge to hit me with?

Bank 1 sensor 1 is the Sensor before the cat. Bank 1 sensor 2 is the one after the cat. Replace the one before the cat if you are suffering from crappy gas mileage or it just quits, as the one behind the cat only tells you if the Cat is working.

the bank 1 sensor 1 isnt providing any info to the torque app so i wonder if its bad. i replaced that one a few years ago. is there a different way to test O2 sensors? sorry for the dumb question. just havent looked it up online yet.

Bank 1 sensor 1 shows up on your reader but there is no data ??
There should at least be a voltage reading even if 0 at least on my scanner there is.
You can check the 02 sensors but it is a pain up in the great winter Chemical belt I needed to build a adapter harness to test back probing the plugs just lead to corroded wires.
It should be easy to find the testing procedure time to get the FSM for your vehicle. If only for the diagnostics !!
I gotta get to work!!

i can pull up bank 1 sensors 1 2 3 and 4. bank 2 sensors 1 2 3 and 4
bank 1 sensor 2 is the only one that provides data, not even a zero for the rest of them, just a -. is this the same for everyone else?
and yeah. its looking like it might be time to get one.

upsteam o2 sensor (before CAT)
INSPECTION
1. INSPECT HEATER RESISTANCE OF A/F SENSOR
(a) Disconnect the sensor connector.
(b) Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals
+B and HT. (my o2 sensors were labeled 1,2,3,4 for the electrical prongs. +B and HT are numbers 1&2. also, both had black wires)
Resistance:
at 20°C (68°F) 0.8 – 1.4 ohms
at 800°C (1,472°F) 1.8 – 3.2 ohms
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor.
Torque: 20 N·m (200 kgf·cm, 14 ft·lbf)
Downstream o2 sensor (after CAT)
INSPECTION
1. INSPECT HEATER RESISTANCE OF HEATED OXYGEN
SENSOR
(a) Disconnect the sensor connector.

Resistance:
at 20°C (68°F) 11 – 16 ohms
at 800°C (1,472°F) 23 – ohms
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the sensor.
Torque: 20 N·m (200 kgf·cm, 14 ft·lbf)
(c) Reconnect the oxygen sensor connector

found this post here on yotatech.
gave me some more information regarding the torque app and the inability to read the upstream sensor. great read.
