01 4Runner belt question

exactly how many are there ?
I know the alternator and fan and the timing belt are there others ?
I have an automatic and when I go through a puddle I believe it's the alternator belt squeals like a pig ..the belts are original and time to be replaced I just wanted to know how many I have to have done besides the timing belt that one is going to cost me 640 bucks including the water pump!

Thanks !

Bob

Well I raised it to put winshield washer fluid in there but that's about it and check the oil I have no idea what is behind the engine or underneath it for that matter I am not mechanically inclined when it comes to vehicles....if you couldn't tell !

No problem Bob. I just changed mine this weekend. A/C, power steering and alternator (which is also my supercharger belt). You have to drop the skid plate underneath to reach the adjustor screws to loosen/tighten the belts.

I could get ya all the parts for about 165.00. All 3 belts, timing belt, and water pump. Shipping would be about 10-12 bucks. You should be able to find someone to put it on for a couple hundred.

Ooooh supercharger I'm jealous !!
Thanks for the info I am trying to do my own work on the truck that way I get to know my way around and can save some BIG money for things like uhm gas I got the oil change and brakes and some minor things like motor for the power window.. the dealer is 85 bucks and hour and I just cannot see spending that for things like that, oh while I am here I asked the dealer about brake pads and turning the rotors they said 170 dollars to turn the rotors???
I mean if they sat there and watched the machine for two hours I can see that but do they not usually include rotor turning in the price of a brake job?

its all good man.. you came to a good place.. the search button is your friend! we like to pick around and you wont have to worry about anyone giving you bad advice on purpose.. but i would read thourghly bc some people do things differently than others. not saying its wrong but there maybe better ways of handling the same thing..you know the drill

Well I was told by a friend about this site and have had nothing but good things come from it , I use to own a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 and could polish and make that car look new but did not know a thing about the engine really just how much horse power it had and the dip stick and such but want to get to know about actually working on the truck if something should go wrong and I thank everyone on here that has helped me so far!
I would give Yota Tech two thumbs up
