00 2wd 4R - rough suspension, vibration and rear brake questions
Vehicle specs:
My wifes 2000 4runner 2wd limited 90k miles 3.4l V6 auto tranny
Stock all around with Michelin LTX's LT265 75R16 tires
Need a few suggestions plus some advice...
Issues:
1. Rough Ride (suspension)
After pushing down on the truck at all 4 corners the rear feels like there is no dampening at all. I suspect the rear shocks are gone. Looking for suggestions on a comfy riding shock?
The ride is really rough. You can feel every bump in the road.
2. High Speed vibration
Between 65-70 mph you can feel the vehicle vibrating through the seats and at your feet. This occurs while accelerating or coasting. I attempted to grease the driveshaft and ujoints plus any front end suspension zerks I could find and discovered there is essentially zero grease points on the 2wd model. Tires are not new but have good tread on them and were recently balanced and rotated. Any thoughts on the source of the vibration?
3. Brakes
I replaced the front brakes with brembo rotors and performance friction pads last year. All seems fine there. I'd like to replace the rear drums and shoes. Any advice on what brand?
Thanks for listening.
