No worries JamesD thanks for the concern, i think what your seeing is just a mixture of rust proofing and mud/dirt because i just cleaned up the frame last fall and then rust painted it with POR15 and i didnt find any weak spots, but ill take another look

Did you ever find out what was causing this? I think all three of the Lexus cars I parted out kind of did this. I was thinking that they just needed a tuneup and newer gas but if yours is doing it after all of it is new it makes me curious.

Well Toyminator my check engine light is 27 and 29 which is left and right secondary O2 sensors which i am not using so i guess the light will never be off...
from the research ive done the lexus pump flows 60GPH and the v6 pickup fuel pump flows 55GPH so i didnt think it was the pump but I am stuck on it being a lean condition so i took the vacuum off the fuel pressure reg and took it for a drive, it got alittle better but had a more gentle stutter (if that makes sense).. then i remembered that the lexus return line had 2 resistors in it and the fuel return line i put on didnt so i clamped the line with vise grips and took it for a drive, still stutters..
I ordered a Walbro 255 that should be here next week so ill let you know how that goes..
Tonight im going to put my lexus O2's back in and change the fuel filter, see if that works..

Cheers,
James

I highly doubt it is the pump. You would have no power on acceleration if it was. I assume you changed the fuel filter? Also those earlier year 1uzfe's had MAF issues just to let you know.

From the picture it does not look like you removed your gas tank when you painted the from or did you?

Yes the MAF was also an idea but i figure since the car ran fine before i took the engine out that the MAF would be ok. A guy down the street from me has a LS400 maybe he will let me try his MAF lol
Changing the filter tonight..

Keep the ideas comin haha
Thanks,

James

If you want to get rid of the check engine light put your 2nd o/2 sensors inside some DOM and weld it to the side of your exhaust pipe. then drill a small hole, like 1/4", to allow some of the exhaust gas to pass through and register on the sensor. Its the same principle that the Lexus guys do but they use spark plug anti-fowlers. I just bought new bungs and welded them to a 1" piece of 1.25 DOM, then welded it to the pipe.

So is there anything wrong with the V6 I assume it's a 3.0. and what would you be wanting for it? Would you arrange shipping on my dime or do i need to take care of that. Could you send a few pic of the engine if you get a chance. thanks alot

You have me worried now .. I ran my truck with out the rear o2 sensors connected for about 2 months with out the check engine light coming on at all. I finally did connect them and all still good. Whats up with that..

and by the way where did you get your radiator and what are the dimensions on that ?

Whats the benefit of doing this , why not just put them in the exhaust like they normally are ?

If your running CATS then nothing is wrong with this but without CATS it will throw a code unless you do something. I'm not running them and I didn't see any under his truck. You Cali guys are the only ones stuck with that.

I like the old style slot mags. I have a set from the late 60's but they are extremely heavy.
