yeehaw1's 1987 Pickup Re-Build Thread

Well, Since i made a builld thread for my mud buggy, I figured that I may as well make one for ol yeehaw.

My Dad bought me yeehaw In November of 09' after i toatled my Ford Escort.

March 8th 2010, 3 days after my 18th birthday I rolled my lil black toy. (no pics )

About a month later we had located most of the parts to fix the truck

Then i got an idea...

Thus Yeehaw was born.

About a month went by with some random bored spraypainting, and a buddy of mine suprised me by giving me a rollbar as an early graduation present. I imediatly went to Harbour Freight and bought some offroad lights!

About 3 1/2 weeks later i bought this 1988 toy for parts.

Got it home and decided it was to nice to just rob parts off of, and it's waiting for a semi-restoration.

Another few days went by and the same guy that gave me the rollbar, gave me 2 8" Kicker subs with tweeters in the box. I went and bought a 250w Sony Xplod Amp off a guy i went to school with, and i took the pair of sparkomatics out of the 88' and just ran the wires over the carpet.

Around 4 monthsnwent by before i did anything else to my truck. It was almost time for me to start into college so i decided to try to get my truck one color again (wow how i wish i would've just left it multicolored).

Around this time i started buying parts again, and got these...

Around three months of brutal winter went by before anything else got done. Then i got bored around Febuary, and fixed the wiring mess i had running under my seat. I also changed the color of my dash lights

Then the weather finally cleared up enough for me to go get the rest of my parts, and i ended up buying everything the guy had left. See thread below.

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...-finds-235627/

then last month, I accidentely tore a door off and bent a fender...

Thankfully i had an extra door, and just unbent the fender.

Today 8/15/11 I got 2 new fenders!!!

There was other minor things changed in there too, but i gotta figure out where on the timeline to slap them.
That's it for now, stay tuned for more!

Where in the world did you find those seats? I'm kind of embarrassed to say that I like them.

Also, (I know I've told you this before) love the shots of the WV countryside. I grew up in southeastern "Ahia", and when I see those pictures I can smell the coal in the air. My grandfather's people are from Morgantown, and he quit school in the sixth grade to work for the coal mines.

Where you going to school?

I found them in the same place i found 4 of my parts trucks, hanging on the side of a hill up near Winfield Wv.

Lol, I know what ya mean. I love it up around Morgantown. I've actually shot on WVU's Rifle Team Range in competition, and shot against some of their top shooters, and their coach.

I went to Marshall University last year. I decided to change schools and am now waiting for the final acceptance for my enrollment into Mountwest Community Technicle College (Formerly Marshall Community Technicle College)

Got one of the new fenders on, need to change the door on the passenger side, then i can change the passenger fender.

Traded my 16" 08' Tacoma rims and 265x75x16 tires for these aluminum rims and 255x70x15? tires
:edit: if i hadn't of traded the guy for those rims and tires, i prolly wouldn't have found that i have a torn cv boot on the passenger side. I gotta remeber to fix that....

sorry for crappy picture quality on that last one, i had to lighten it up a great deal

I've thought about putting them in multiple times, but i'm really wanting to put a set of Mustang seats (or something similar in style and comfort) in, it's getting closer to these going in though.
Regardless of what i put in, i'm planning on having it reupholstered in either a mossy oak, or a realtree, Camoflauge. (when funds allow)

Mike Nesmith was a Monkey wasn't he? I don't remeber a hat though...

Looks like I'm gonna have to change my bed sooner rather than later...
Some Jerk decided to hit the Rear passenger side of my bed, Dented the bottom half in pretty good, right where the weld is for the bedside...

Yeah, I like the mud color so much, that I've only washed my truck 3 times since I've owned it, of course it don't matter when it's rattle can primered anyway :hillbilly: things are kinda slowed for winter, it's been in the 30s lately...

I just caught the title of your post, and thank you for that little write up Philbert!

Anyway, i've been looking at my grille, and hating how much it looks like a dakota grille with a toyota emblem since i got the truck, while reserching custom grilles today i came across a mod called Satoshi... Now i'm guessing that's japanese, but i have no idea what it means lol. Regardless it's appernetly putting expanded metal in a bondo'd cut up grille and calling it custom. Here's a LINK to one.
