Mshrivers First 4Runner

Hi Everyone. Noob here, but I have been creeping for a couple of weeks learning about these trucks. I just traded my 98 Subaru Legacy GT for a 95 4Runner with the 3.0 and manual trans.

The previous owner replaced the headgaskets and all gaskets from the heads up. He also did the clutch and plugs and wires. It has a little body rust mostly on the rear tail gate and needs new tires and an alignment, but overall nice truck.

My plans are to make it a mild off road / winter driver / work-horse. Planning on getting some 32x11.50's, tube rear bumper, maybe an OME lift eventually. Im going to re-do the ugly gold bedliner with some black monstaliner.

Its currently my Daily Driver. Updates to the truck will come once I get either my project car back on the road https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f188.../#post52254220
Or my wife gets a new car and I take over driving her old one. Whichever comes first

Welcome, wrong section for intro's but no biggie the mods can move it.

You might want to consider LC coils for rear lift. Believe you can get 1.5 to 2" off of them, but I'm a leaf spring guys so maybe others with more 2nd gen knowledge will chime in. Will prolly be cheaper than new rear coils. For offroading you might want to consider manual hubs and an ADD delete. Some low profile bumpstops in the front with a little torsion cranking is the way I had my IFS set up. Should clear 32"s with no rubbing

Nice rig, watch out these rigs and their modifications are addictive

Do you want to make a build thread out of this? I can move it if you like or you can just keep it here and use it to follow your progress on the truck as you go. Nice looking runner you have and Welcome to Yotatech.

Terry,

I was just planning to use this as my build thread as I start to do stuff to the truck. So if its ok to leave it here then thats what Ill do with it. If not feel free to move it and Ill start a build thread once I do some mods.

You can clear 32's without any lift really.

Updates:

I have not posted in a while, but I have made some updates on my 4runner.

First, I picked up some Goodyear Duratrac 31x10.50s. I decided against going up to 32s. I also updated the white / tan combo it had when I bought it with some black pro-comp wheels and black monstaliner on the doors. And most importantly I have been enjoying exploring and playing with it off-road.

New tires / old wheels

Out exploring

New Wheels / black bedliner
