matt92yota's 1992 Pickup Build-Up Thread

So i've been looking at a lot of you guys builds and i decided it was about time i made my own, so here it goes!

First off heres a little history about the truck...and what its been through up until today. When i was 15 my dad bought it for me from a friend of his for $3500, all stock and it had 146,000 miles on it, it is a 22re 5spd and came with a set of 31" michelin ltx m/s and looked like this (without the canoe or rollbar and cleaner of course lol)

Then a few months later after i got my license i got tired of the stock look and sound of the truck so i put on some 32" wild country rvt radials, straight piped exhaust and the rollbar.

Well my senior year of high school i got into my first accident, my brakes went out on me and i went through a stop sign and hit a 2004 grand marquis in the drivers side rear quarter panel, on impact it destroyed the cars quarter panel and bumper, forced the trunk open and bent the frame and rear axle of the car. The only damage done to my truck was a messed up grille, bumper, lower valance and a popped tire. The car was totaled and it cost $260 to repair my truck and i had to put the michelins back on as well.

Then in February 2010 i had an accident in the snow, i was driving to my friends house to go riding 4wheelers and right before i got to her house there was another truck coming from the opposite direction and was taking up the majority of the road so i tried to move over enough to be out of the way but i hit a big pile of snow with my right side tire and it jerked my truck into the ditch where it flipped onto its side, luckily my 4wheeler didnt get messed or even move for that matter and the only damage to the truck was a mangled up front fender and bedside.

And a month or two later while driving in town i got rear ended by an early 90's lincoln town car, it only scuffed up the bottom part of my bumper and put a small dent on the bottom of the bed. So with the money i got from the insurance company i decided to treat myself to a nice sound system, i got a jvc head unit, 4" alpine speakers, 10" almani sub in a ported box with a 600 watt california amp. I also put in a cb that i got from a friend for free

Then in November i came across a great deal on a bed off of a 2wd pickup, he only wanted $100 for it, it had a few dings here and there but nothing major he also had a brush guard off of a 4runner that i picked up for an additional $110.

And in April i went to a local junkyard and i stumbled upon a 1990 4runner sr5 that was only missing its motor and trans so i grabbed the bucket seats, center console, clock and gauge cluster out of it. Of course the cluster didnt work because it is cable driven and my truck is electric, but everything else went in fine.

Before:

After:

And i've also added a pacesetter header and a K&N air filter, and switched to a set of 31" nexen roadian mt's along the way as well. But other than that, thats all i've done to it so far.

Future plans:
1.) Paint
2.) BJ spacers
3.) 63" chevies
4.) 33" baja claws
5.) 4.88 gears
6.) Front and rear tube bumpers

hopefully #1 on the list will be coming within the next few weeks!!!

*update* Yesterday i went and got my paint, i decided to go with lime green after a month or two of changing my mind lol. But on my way home i believe i blew my head gasket! There was coolant all under the hood and there was some coolant coming out of the exhaust pipes, me and my dad towed my truck home with his 94 pickup with the 3.0.
I havent had time to look at my truck yet as it is still on the trailer. I'll put some pics up this afternoon.

i was kinda surprised how well my dads truck pulled all that weight, the only problems were on the hills but other than that it pulled it 45 mph with no problems.

yeah my truck is up and running again lol. the bucket seats are by far my favorite mod, it gives you a little bit more room in the cab which is really nice. and as far as the hubs go, it was my first time ever taking them apart and i didnt think it was hard at all just pay attention to what your doing and you should be fine

nothing the seats will bolt right in, but if you want all 4 bolts to go in you will have to drill out a hole for the front brackets on each side, but i thought 3 on each side was good enough. and i havent mounted my console yet because i will be getting it painted soon and im going to paint the interior as well so its just kinda sittin there for now lol

Where did you buy your roll bar? I've been looking on and off for a rollbar just like that. I just never decided whether or not if I really wanted on. It would be great to know where you got yours in case I finally decide to buy one xD
