irab88's 1993 PickUp Build-Up Thread

"Red Rover"

not a true "build up", but more of making it ready for camping. it will be a slow process, but i intend to get it done before the end of 10-11 winter.

and off to a good start, got myself a camper shell. finally.

the reason i haven't done the battery-intake swap yet is i'm not too sure what to do with the air conditioning lines. an intake flex hose would hit the hood

How did you get the Supra AFM to work? I have an 87 Supra AFM and my truck would not even think about starting with it plugged in. At least I was told it was out of an 87. So I supposed it should work with an 87 V6. I just found your thread about the AFM. I just need to find out how to get one to work on the V6, if it is possible.

Nice looking truck. I have been thinking about a camper setup for the back of mine. I am looking forward to seeing what you do.

the afm for an '82 supra works for the 22r/e/c/t, as long as it has the serial number that ends in something like 43111 (i'm too lazy to look it up). some people take the stock afm circuit out and put it in the non-compatible afm, and it works

edit: it ends in 43110

today i ordered some relays from amazon. 10 relays and harnesses for $25, shipped. i plan on using two of them for the alternating marker/turn signal flash, one for each of brake, l & r turn, reverse, and running lights. that leaves me with three, so i can mix the turn and brake signals for the cap's third brake light. the actual light has two bulbs, so i can make them blink/turn on like a ford's brake lights (especially f-_50's) (edit: probably not going to do that)

.

Ian, why on earth would you put the relays there? Your asking for big trouble. Put it in the cab or under the hood not under the vehicle behind the rear tire.

don't worry, it's all part of my grand scheme. i'll eventually cover it up. the past two days have been non-stop rain, and i commute 100 miles a day. no problems. but i like to tuck things away...
it's all good
