away at work right now but will be working on it again when I'm home in a couple weeks. Went with a top mount intercooler after the video was taken. Still has the double shackles for now. Buying tires when I get home

So I guess to update the truck got its first day on the road and....Hauls ass. The feeling of going from a 22re to the 7 MG-TE is hard to describe its a whole new truck.

Some pics of the progress

Front End and rad support (hood pins, latch gone) Keeps around 185 on the temp with the fan on.

The immediate to do list:

Re gear to 5.29's
Buy 35" tires. Any suggestions of kind are appreciated

Nice update! I bet that thing hauls with the 7mgte. If I was going to so a swap that would be the motor I would use.

Nice work! I really like your 1/2 doors, what did you use for mirrors, looks good!

For my next set of tires I'm leaning towards BFG KM2's. A lot of guys on here run them, they have a lot of good reviews, not sure how they compare to other tires in price range, that could be a big deciding factor, lol.

Awesome build, look forward to seeing more!

looking good. I get distracted easilly and I forgot to reply about my top mount intercooler. Sorry about that.

Without reading back through the thread, how much boost are you running? The difference between 6psi and 12 psi is huge. The ct26 has a very simple boost controller you can build into the vaccum line to control it. Will only cost a few bucks. Google knows how to make it.

One of the best things I did was clean up the vaccum lines as i found mine were always leaking from somewhere. Now I have one to the fuel pressure vsv and one to my brake booster. Looks much cleaner once I took them all off too.

as for gear ratio, 35s and 5.29 are what i run and are whats needed for the 4cyl. But I feel we have enough power that 4.88s would be worth it to keep the rpms down and possibly get better fuel economy. Your call. I cruise the highway at roughly 2900rpm.

Nothingbetter! thanks for the reply. I have been pondering the 4.88's as well, the way I figure it I will get the 35's on without re gearing and see how it performs, then if need be re gear or sell them.

I'm only running 6 psi or whatever stock is. That's interesting about the vacuum line mod I will have to look into it. I like that 'google knows how to make it' haha

down the line I would love to do the Lexus AFM 550cc injectors and AFPR mod. sounds like it makes a huge difference

what did you do for your tach?

with winter coming I thought that maybe I should upgrade the windows from a cut up shower curtain to something a bit stronger.

so I decided to go with lexan

my tach is an autometer phantom 2 mounted on the dash. Way over kill for what I need but it sure looks cool!

Your boost pressure will depend on your intercooler and piping setup. if you're no longer running a full factory system you won't be running factory levels. With my subaru top mount I was running 12 psi, after I installed my new IC that I made from a cummins IC I was getting 6psi at 4000rpm and it dropped off to 2-3 psi at 6000. Did the wastegate mod and now I can adjust it anywhere I want.

The lexus/550 mod won't do you any good untill you push past 14 psi at which point you'll need a t4 turbo and manifold. Although that sure would be fun!

Got my tires!

So I'm having some issues with heat in the cab. Ever since I got the truck it hasn't produced any heat. I always figured it was the heater core so I took the dash apart today and pulled the core. It seems there is nothing wrong with it. Coolant flows freely through it no rust or sediment . I omitted the valve on the firewall to make sure it wasn't the issue. This problem existed with my 22re as well as with the 7mgte. Any ideas?

I like the Subaru scoop! I've thought about adding some kind of functional scoop or hood vents to reduce engine temps under the hood.

Your new tires look sweet, I really like the new stance, looks way more aggressive now!

Not sure about your heater issue. My first guess would have been the heater core.

With the dash out already I figured what better time to put the stereo in. Im always a bit reluctant to leave my truck with the half doors and top off in the summer because I dont want my stereo to go missing. This will be the center console and will have a small lock on the front. It wont be unbreakable but it should at least keep the stereo hidden
