4RunnerKid's 1993 4Runner Build-Up Thread
another 4Runner SAS. no way! :pat:
well it's just about done (except for bumpstops, steering stabilizer, and driveshaft), so i thought i'd post up some pics of the build-up for those interested. not that it's any different from the 238593245 SAS projects in the last couple of months. anyways, on to some pics...
oh, the IFS... gotta love it.
IFS going bye-bye. she will be missed.
and off she goes...
hanger tacked up
springs hung
hanger mostly welded up. (added some straps on the front afterwards)
housing hung.
how i mounted the t-case cooler...
shocks
front-end
and how it sits...
setup is as follows:
~Trail-Gear SAS kit
~5" springs
~14" Bilstein 5100s
~85 front axle (4.10/Aussie)
~square tube d-shaft
hopefully i'll have some action pics this weekend. as long as i can get everything done and it stops raining...
oh, by the way... all my IFS crap is for sale --> FOR SALE THREAD

Rocklobster, actually working on it, it took a couple days. it was in my garage for a week though. worked on it when i could.
FilthyRich, i'm going to run 37" MTRs. maybe 35s at first... found a deal on some.
99 Runner, i will definitely post some pics when i do the rear swap. i just need to get my friend's buggy out of my garage so i can pull mine in and hack everything off.

Mike-
That looks sweet! Awesome work man, the 4runner is turning out awesome. I think I already told you but I am going to Cal Poly next year. Right now I am building up a dana 44 for the front of my 1999 4runner that I will be getting for college. Its my graduation gift. So I will be SAS'ing that as soon as all the $$ is there to afford it. Anyway, keep up the good work man. Take it easy

i went with the 5s because i was looking for around 6" of lift. on TGs site, and talking to Chris, hanger/shackles end up adding about an inch or so to the spring height... so with 5" springs you're supposedly supposed to be at around 6" of lift, and so on... also, with the V6 and my bumper i figured 5s would be my best bet.
