22repower 1987 4runner

Finally found a 4runner

Its a 22re 5 speed base package
Heres some details
-158000 miles
-Original Paint still pretty decent
-Drives great
-Had new tires
-Top and all windows are perfect
-Rear window works
-Motor runs perfect only issue is it takes a few seconds to fire cold and overshoot the temp gauge sometimes
-Has rust some on front fenders, rockers, and a few bubbles here and there
-Frame is solid no holes etc. but its pretty crusty
-Missing a few small interior pieces
-Brakes are a bit soft
-Rear leafs have some sag
-a/c there but doesn't work
Its better that most the toyota's you see that are a lot newer and the price wasn't too bad so I got it.

(Pics are kinda crappy without the top and a little dirt on it)

Nice looking little runner. The brake and charge light is usually a sign that the alternator is about to give out. As far as your temp overshoot, probably just need to scrub the water temp sensor inbetween the 2nd and 3rd injector that has a blue clip on it.

Looking forward to your build.

Engine's not running in the pictures lol

I think the overshoot's related to the thermostat because running the heater makes it almost always do it, which corresponds with all of the threads that I've read about the problem.

It's been awile since I updated this last so here's how it looks now

I put my cherokee coils in the rear to band-aid the sag, and have pretty much just drove it for the last few months.

Only issues so far have been a fuel line leak that got patched, a coolant line blew out, and a very slow clutch fluid leak.

I also replaced replaced the water pump because it seemed a little rough when I was looking for the coolant leak.
