Nice, how did you get it all so semetrical?(prolly spelled that wrong) I think i have a spare hood that had a bit of cancer, that i could paint up like that to hang on the wall of my shop ( re-purposed chicken coop).

I did alot of measuring to find the center and the proper lines for the corners. For the stars I used a plastic stick to the wall decoration and jus eyeballed it. It ended up takin half an afternoon with the measuring, masking, and painting.

cut the sides out and tig weld in some patch panels, i beleive the sides arent structural right?
check out the flatbed on my 88, and maybe recommend something like that to him, its 100x better then a stock bed, plus you can remove the sides in about 10mins and make it a true flatbed.
if hes interested, i could type up some step by step instructions, and a list of materials and tools he'd need

He went out and looked at it with me the other day and only then did he actually realise how bad the rust really is. Even the bed rails are rusting out. I will definitly have to share some more ideas with him and come to a middle ground agreement hahha.
I assume you are talkin about the motor that it had before this one? The old motor, before the current APR one, was the original block to the truck. We had it bored over and rebuilt. When we blew it we decided that the APR was cheaper and easier at that time. But its cheaper to rebuild yourself than to buy rebuilt.

I actually did something improving the truck today... I put a slider rear window for the old man. He wanted one pretty bad, so I picked up one for free from wakkjobb.

After
Oh yeah and here is the bad rust on the bed rails....

good build, but what did you do to the head if anything?
I'm going today to pick up another head from my 22r, but i cant find any detailed info on rebuilding a 22r head.

We had the head decked at the machine shop. It had warped somwhere in the process of the 2nd rebuild. Other than that the head had only like 50k on it so everything was good to go.
