Just started working on my 85 runner, currently removing parts from a rolled doner. Today we pulled the rear axle out, and started cleaning 100 years of grease off of it. I am not sure what the best paint to use is.i will post pictures when i figure out how

clean it really well, remove any rust and sand it well. use a zinc based primer and paint with an epoxy based paint. there is also a product marketed by sem called rust shield that is flat black that can be aplied to bare metal for a one step aproach. google eastwood and or aquire one off thier free catologs for all sorts of chassis refinishing products

post them all! the more the better. do yourself and us all a big favor tho, get those jack stands off those blocks and onto the hot top or put wood between them. steel stands can cause cement/concrete blocks to shatter. heck your donor trucks nicer than mine, lol. the phone # for eastwood is 1-800-345-1178. eastwood.com get their catolog its handy for locating paint products and tools. welcome to YT

Welcome to Yotatech. Always like seeing women working on their trucks as well. Just wish I could get the wife a little more involved. She says she is going to start helping more.
Take alot of pictures. It is always something you will enjoy seeing where you started with and where you are at. You will be surprised at how fast things will move for you. Lost of good info on this site. Looking forward to your build.

This is my daughters truck, so you all please be nice She wont let me work on it if she is not there. We are hoping to get the front end pulled so we can move the parts into the garage to paint.

Sorry its been so long. Now with the time change we can get back to work. We installed the rear suspension and rear end off of the donor, It looks to have too much angle on the diff. There is a wedge under the spring that looks to be installed the wrong direction
