OME ARb Lift for 1985 4runner. Stock frame pins and do I need sleeves?

1985 4Runner

I purchased an OME ARB 2.5 HD lift with greasable shackles front and rear. I also got the polyurethane bushings all around. My 4Runner is not stock and has been quasi-lifted about 15 years ago so I am not sure if the outfit that lifted it then used sleeves for the frame pins. My questions are:

1) Should I re-use the current frame pins (non-greasable)? If I should use greasable, where the heck can I find these? I looked online everywhere including the ARB product manual and cannot find them.

2) Same with the metal sleeves. I understand I do not need the for the shackles since I have the greasable ones, but do I need them for the frame pins? I found the item number OME-181469 but this lists them as rear bushing sleeves. Will these work for the front frame pins as well?

3) I hope to search this site and gain info on how to install the OME lift kit. I'm seeing several ways to do this and wondered what everyone's experience was in installing new springs.

Other than that, I think I should be good to go. Thanks for your help and I will post pics of my 85 4Runner when all done.

Thanks
JARED

I just installed my OME 3" lift on my 85. Rides awesome and the install was pretty straight forward. I didn't use greasable bolts or sleeves. I heard that the polyurethane bushings are fine without sleeves but I am not 100% sure.

Thanks! I think you are right in that I wont need greasable bolts or sleeves. I have the greasable shackles...so I should be ok. I hope.

I bought my grease-able pins through Trail Gear for the Front and the Back.

Only ones I was not able to find were the front pins on the rear leaf springs.

Check out my build thread towards the end. I have pictures of them.

PM me if you have any questions.

I just put the OME on my 85 last fall. It was a pretty straight forward install. For front springs, I used the OME greaseable pins at the frame (OME GP3 OME Greasable Pin Kit).

For rear springs, I reused the stock frame pin and just torched out the sleeve from the original rubber bushing to use between the pin and bushing. Without the sleeve, there was some play between pin and bushing. The OME GP3 greaseable pins will NOT work for the frame mount for the rear springs.

You should not need sleeves for shackles. I used OME greasable shackles (OMEGS4 OME Greasable Front Shackle Kit, OMEGS3 OME Greasable Rear Shackle Kit ).

Here is a link to my install:
