Kawasakilewis 85 Build up thread
hi all! not new to toyotas or the forum. had a 91 pickup, 87 pickup, 89 4runner, and an 07 fj cruiser. and i now have an 85 toyota pickup. so heres the deal. its an 85, 22re, 5spd, 4x4, 265,000miles and heres the parts list:
-engnbldr master rebuild kit
-bored .030 over
-front cover
-high volume oil pump
-r.v. cam
-stainless oversized valves
-rocker arm kit
-belts and hoses all new
-new egr and vsv valves
-injectors cleaned and flow tested
-3 row radiator
-l.c. engineering ceramic coated header
-full 2 1/4 exhaust and flowmaster 44
-powersteering pump
-alternator
-centerforce clutch
-remanufactured transmission with short throw shift kit
-tom woods one peice cv driveshaft
-randys r&p 4:88s, came with 5.29s in package with install kits
-detroit 'soflocker' in the rear
-front and rear axles both rebuilt and rebearinged
-warn hubs
-brakes, rotors and calipers
-eagle alloy wheels
-37x12.50x15 truxus mt radials
-allpro 4" long travel springs
-allpro front spring hangar
-downey front shackles
-n.w.o.r. rear shackles
-budbuilt rear spring hangars
-bilstein 5150 fronts

im sure theres stuff i forgot. the truck came from kansas and florida so it is basicaly rust free. i now have it in pennsylvania. here is some pictures.

Thats a sweet truck man I saw it posted on CL last week, I know it wasnt too far away from me. That guy wanted a good bit for it but after seeing whats done to it Id say it was def worth it. Good luck with the new truck!

hey i have owned a 85-91 pickup or 4runner since i was 15 except for about 24hrs between sellin my flatbed and buying this. i will always be a pickup guy no matter how well my fj treats me. just be glad my new ride is a toyota still haha

I've been as far as to look a new FJ over. I think they are killer.
Trying to think of a reason I shouldnt get one...other than my wife says "the puppy's wouldnt fit in there"
I'd probably be done for if I ever drove one.

i was dead set on a taco, then i drove the fj. needless to say it was mine the next day. it goes pretty good offroad too! i wheel it sometimes lightly. its hard for me to take a 20k$ rig wheeling haha

i know sfa trucks are hard to find round here! and i think it will occupy me because i will be chaing things not fixing rust like PA toyotas usually are haha. i love this thing so far
