Gonna finally work on my truck
Well I've owned This truck for a couple years. The first owner was a hangglider pilot who I drove thousands of miles on this truck and picked him up so when he was getting rid of it I said " give it to me " and he did.
A couple of months after he bought it brand new in 85 he rolled it down a cliff.
First thing i fixed was the headlight switch. His Toyota mechanic said he couldn't fix it, I went to the junkyard and fixed it in 5 minutes.
Have replaced the head gasket and timing chain so engine is clean but been losing coolent and cant figure out where? even took it to a good garage and they couldn't find the leak. I was living in N.Y. and blew up the radiator. Now I live in Georgia and its nice every day so ill have lots of time to work on it.
The thermostat has a stripped screw hole so have to do something about that, Right now its sealed in place so that doesn't leak.
All the mechanical work I can do but never really did much body work. Small bits of bondo on old cars but that's it. First body thing im doing is a new drivers door. Its crunched near the hinge so have to pull up and in to close. Have to find a junkyard with these in Georgia?
Lots of rust from New York winters, The drivers floor is like fred flinstone, pretty soon ill be stopping by putting down my feet LOL!!!
Its arriving next week so Ill be asking some questions and ill post pics when I can.
I also need a really good loud stereo LOL!!!!!

Where you at in GA? I have two doors for an 85 that i do not really want. Theyre not in terrible shape, just need window regulators and the drivers side panel needs replacing, passenger one looks good. They are SR5 doors. The places around here usually charge like $75 each for OK doors. Id let mine go for $50. For both. PM me if interested!

I take too many pics but ill post the main good ones here. Well I still cant post from photobucket. I try to copy the link and it wont copy. Maybe im doing something wrong but ill post a link to the page where all the pics are I hope you can see them
Oh by the way I had one heck of a mouse nest in my glove compartment and two recent died mice in the truck, Poor little mice couldn't take the ride from NY to Georgia I guess.

The hardest part about the dash is getting the heater controls back to where they should be. I use two colors of spray paint and mark them top and bottom of where they go to. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...trucks-286766/ While in there might want to get your evaporator.

It looks to me as someone was backing up and caught the door on something. My guess is it pushed the door pillar out of alignment. Shims might work to correct it or may need to have a shop to pull it back into place. They are not as expensive to have work done as you might think. May need to shop around. You might luck out and be able to move the fender forward as mentioned.

No, the original owner rolled the truck a couple months after buying it. I didn't have too much problems with original door but had to pull up and in to shut it, that why thought new door would be better

Well ordered a window regulated for my door and a new air filter. The old filter was a giant mouse nest.
Slow going but hopefully will get something done tommarow.
A couple days ago took off fender but couldn't get new door to fit so have to put old crinkle door back on. Surprised no rust on front. Rear is bad rust along with no floorboard.
Have to figure a way to put new floorboard without welding. Maybe rivets for now.
Wanted new leafspings but really can't afford them. I can't believe how much they cost need to find a sugar daddy LMAO
