and bam less than half an hour later shes dead.

I finished plugs and wires and turned her on. I was gonna let her run for awhile and come back out to tinker. Came back out and shes not running. I tried firing her up and nothing. The battery seemed to be dead. Strange. So I came inside got a battery jumper and went out and tried firing her. She then attempted to start but no cigar. Shed only crank once then nothing like not enough juice.

So I will bring out a charged full battery and see if she starts. The charge brake light came on awhile ago so maybe its related. Shouldn't be the battery though since the runner was running. So maybe alternator?? So battery is dead cause not charging and vehicle not staying running cause alternator is bad.

Well I jumped it with other battery and fired right up. I sat inside and watched voltage gauge just go down so must be crap battery.

Im going to do a battery intake swap and when I do ill get a good battery. It probably doesn't help that she sits for a few weeks a month and doesn't get touched.

well I also tinkered with tailgate that was not working. Theres a thing that move up when u unlock and lock it. Well it goes up by hand but not up with lock switch. So I unhooked just to use door but will need to figure out what I need to do. it is on a spring so I think it is supposed to go back down but I think its supposed to lock up until you want it to.

But it wouldn't have died in the first place if it was just a bad battery. It would only die if the battery discharged because it wasn't being fed by the alternator. Get that alternator tested

I agree with above. Sounds like the alternator is crapped out. Get it tested.

Clean your battery posts, start the truck, put a voltage meter on the battery posts. With the engine running it should read 13.5+ volts.

The brake and charge light is usually alternator has quit. Might just need new brushes. The parts stores usually get rebuilt in Mexico and are much better, I have had plenty of problems wit them.

Mine quit working and I think I was able to fix it with a small sheet metal screw on my tailgate.

I decided to go blue. I have seen a few sweet yotas here on yotatech that were blue and I really liked. So bam I did it.

I guess we are supposed to get some rain and sleet tonight, maybe some more snow and then probably will freeze so I am going to put the top back on.

I didn't realize I had a diesel. Sweet.

Sorry ill get pics tmrw. As well as paint my wheels.

Today i ordered a rugged ridge recovery kit. Shackles, snatchblock, straps blah blah.

I also ordered a trailgear alternator adaptor. Going to use a cadilac alternator. I dont know if mine is messed up or not but im going to do it anyways. Since i have a winch and will need it even more once i have lights and cb and other junk. Figure now is time.

Well i was gonna do black. Then someone mentioned i should do them gray. Then i started thinking about that.

I could do black.

Gray

Gray wheels and redo top gray leaving trim black.

Or i could do them blue.

Idk. Any suggestions

Heres some close ups of welded in rocker /sliders. These are cool. Sturdy. I will probably add some tube to outside just to have more kick out. FYI the guy that did these said they were a huge pain in the rump. He said he would not do it again even if someone was willing to pay him. Which someone offered him a bunch to do.
