It doesn't affect the vents. It's definitely some kind of plastic but it's pretty tough and flexible. I just like that they color match, so you don't have this weird looking out of place dash. From 10ft away it just looks like a pristine stock dash. I think it's the best thing you can for the interior.

I'm pretty sure my front end needs to be rebuilt on account of this fluid on the knuckles. Maybe I can get away with just not using my 4WD for a little while. If it's not engaged there shouldn't be anything partying inside my axle.
Plus I could rebuild it right before I get new rims and tires so that everything gets balanced and aligned at the same (:
Luckily these falken street tires will not die. I'm riding these bad boys to the wire.

I eventually need to rebuild my axle. From what I have seen, Marlin Crawler has the best rebuild kit out there and is even better then Toyotas kit. Luckily I will have a friend helping me on mine. With the cost of tires I dont blame you for trying to get every mile out of them.

Ive learned the hard way that "if it aint broke don't fix it" is a great rule of thumb. Especially in autos. I can't justify splurging $1000 on mud tires when that $1000 can do so much for my power and drivetrain.
This 84 is my baby. Probably won't get lifted. I want an 82 to build into a real off road machine. The first gens actually look good to me beat up and seasoned. I'm going to get a bunch of stuff done this weekend. Working out my brakes, deleting the egr, and pulling the upholstery to bed line the cab floor. I'm anxious.

I have never seen that problem before. You sure the truck the booster it came off of hadn't been switched before? Something I will look into when I get the chance as I have an 88 and will see what the size differences is.

Booster
I may be wrong on this but i think there is 2 different size boosters.I think the turbo model dual diaphragm booster is of a smaller od than the others, thats why its sought after for the earlier model trucks. Please correct me if i am wrong.

I tried to order a coverlay dash cover from jcwhitney last week. Someone from coverlay called me up and said they were no longer making stuff for my truck (88 4runner) because they were having too many problems with the product. She didn't really elaborate, just cancelled my order.
Yours looks great! I really want one. Wonder what the issues were?

Yeah the bolt pattern is the same but a simple Google search would have told me you can't go zu to toy. I'm pretty much just going to have to eat this one and put it behind me. The tires rubbed my rear leafs so maybe Walmart will at least let me exchange for some stock size tires. On my mystery 15" rims that I have no idea what brand they are. They say made in Italy on the back! Wth!
Let this be a lesson to anyone who thinks guessing will suffice. Because now there's no guessing about it, I may be eating $650.
"Yotatech 235/85/16 Isuzu rims Toyota 4:10 tires" there. Hopefully someone doesn't make my mistake.
