99 sas runner's 1966 toyota stout 1900 build up thread
well i have got my hands on what Ive found to be a very rare 1966 toyota stout thats been sitting for 15 or so years... i believe it has a 1.9L 4cyl "3r" engine (i call it a 19 r hahaha) and has some sort of 4sp ON THE TREE transmition haha anyways its pretty rough and needs a lot of work. it is a 2wd truck and from what ive read up its the first model of a toyota truck ever sent to the U.S.A. i know i should probly be restoring it but i wanna do something like a 22ret (have all the parts) w-56 trans, top shift t-case and a 85 solid front axle and put it on 35s. im gonna post the pics i have and we will see what happens! o ya i did put a battery in it do some hot wiring and put some fuel down the carb and cranked on it on and off for a few minutes and got it to start for about three seconds!
i didnt know where else to put this post so here it is!

I think its gonna be pretty cool sitting on 35s I'm not sure there is to many people who have 4 wheel drive swapped them. Let alone to many people that even own one ..

Got it to run pretty long by spraying fuel in the carb with a windex bottle ! All I did today was pull the carb off and turn the head lights on haha

part of me wants to find something like that to do a body swap on my '81's chassis so I don't have to mess with Oregon Emissions testing....
wow, intake and exhaust manifolds are on the wrong sides
edit: how wide is the rear axle on that thing? for some reason I seem to remember that they were actually a little wider than later trucks...

There is a '73 Hilux with an 18R-C near my home in GA. It looks like the carb may fit your motor or is at least on the driver's side. If you're serious about getting the stocker going again, let me know and I can get you some better info on the carb
