Today was interesting day. Got up and took the gas tank off so I can get to the frame to finish cleaning it and my friend came over to help me weld my hangers for my shackles on the rear. He is a certified welder and I only have welded a few times in my life so I don't wanna practice on something this important lol. I got the hangers cut off and got my angle gauge out and got them to where I thought it was 35* and we welded it up and did the other side. Bolted the shackles back on and this is what happened:
I was like well crap...come to find out I think I had the angle gauge on the wrong side and thats what messed it up I think. So we cut the hangers off again and cleaned them up and scooted them back 2" from the original 5" they were moved forward and TACKED them on. Came out like this:
Much better. Also got a new puppy today. She is cute. Will have to take her for a ride in the yota once I get it put back together.

The frame looks really clean! Especially with the fresh hardware for the bumper. Good to see you have the shackle angle all taken care of.

Moved my cb radio yesterday. Didn't like it on top of the dash. I put it were my tachometer was which I moved to the right side of the console. Forgot to take a pic of that. Also bought some paint to try and paint my wheels black. Gonna try it tonight or tomorrow. If don't like it I will buy the pro comp white wagon wheels probably.

Cleaned and painted my gas tank today and re-installed it. Still gotta do the rock guard for it though. Did some brake line work where I took the LSPV out and I can notice a big difference in brakes. I could skid my rear tires real easy now. Bought the double flare tool for $20 and it was real easy to use. I put a union in and ran a new piece from the union to where the brake line hose connects on the bracket on the frame. The coupling I removed from work I guess my grandfather did on the brakes was compression! I was like oh no ... Removed that and put the union in its place. No leaks. Also put new rubber fuel lines on everything around the gas tank too.
I bent the tubing pretty good till I had to pull on it a lot to get it to where I could wrenches on the union that was between the gas tank and the frame. Thats why it looks a little shabby now.

Put my old truck bed back on today. Its to hot these days (97+) to work in the truck in my garage with no A/C. When it gets October or November I will start the body work on the new bed and finish cleaning the front half of my frame and then seal it. Give the rustoleum a few months to see how it holds up.

Well the fenders I ordered the other week were apparently out of stock and I re-orded them yesterday and also ordered so me pro comp series 51 black wheels from 4 wheel parts. They were buy 3 get 1 free! Got chrome lug nutz too. Had them shipped to the local store so I didn't have to pay for shipping.
Last night/this morning me and a friend(s) fixed my shackle angle for the second time. First time I moved them forward 3" from stock location and it was way to much. Now they are 1 1/8" from stock location (13 1/8" from end of frame to front of shackle). Now they are a slightly positive angle and not the 55* angle like they were which kept causing them to go up against the frame and stay when I would drive over a bump.
About to start practicing welding myself. Bought a cheap flip down helmet ($15) at tractor supply and a couple different rods too. Got a pair of nice gloves from Lowes for ($20). I have a Lincoln 225 stick welder I got from grandfather since he was a welder for a railroad company forever.

The Nissan part number is 38323-C6010. Not sure if thats the old part number but they can look up the new one if its not. Like $10 or so for a pair.

NICE BUILD! Very much interested in the work on the hangers, etc. I've got that in the 'NEXT 5' list of things to do, BIGGER things, anyway, lol. I want more travel, so I gotta do something, right?
Been told hangers and shackles and maybe adding a stock, cut, full size chebby leaf to my stock pack would work out for a GREAT smooth and articulating ride! lol. (friend of mine said he's done it 4 times now, rather than buying expensive leaf packs) ...... Either way, new or old, it's gonna get a lil softer than it is with the Zuk in there now and stock saggers, lol. The ZUK HAS BEEN GREAT, but went a lil stiff on it... OOPS! lol. Thinking the Rancho GS5000's aren't helping the 'smooth' part much, either. Take care, man.... looking forward to more
