Wish you lived closer I'd just pay you instead of 4wheelparts
Thanks! I hear you on the whole time thing, I'm finding it harder and harder to spend much time in the shop. I'm glad I completed the big projects when I did!

Maybe my next tires
So far I really like them, they do great in the rocks! I like them on the street too, they are pretty smooth and not very loud. I'm still waiting to try them out in the the snow and mud.

I did notice something kind of weird, the last time I took the truck down to Buena Vista I spent the whole weekend down there. Once I hit the first trail I aired down to 8-10 PSI, the place I was staying was only a couple miles away so I didn't bother airing up. The following day I headed to the next trail (about 5-10 miles away, half on the highway the rest on back roads), on the way I noticed a bad burning smell. There was a controlled burn in the area, and I thought the smell was coming from that but it was several miles away and the smoke was going in the other direction. When I came to a stop the smell only got worse, like burning rubber. I checked all around the dash, transmission, floor boards, engine compartment, etc and could not pin point it.

I know it's not the best idea to drive at trail pressure on the road, but I've never had this happen before with the old style MTR's, or my last Pro Comp Xtreme M/T tires. It was not a hot day either (temps in the 50's).

After spending some time on Pirate4x4 I ran into a post about the new MTR's, one of the guy's that was on the UA tour said that they noticed the new MTR's were making a bad burning smell after running on the highway, too.

Thank you, we should do some wheeling! Where in Eagle County are you? Are you down for a late season Holy Cross or BV trip?

I am over in Vail. Definitely sometime in the future, currently my truck needs a bit of work before it is trail ready When we took it up to east vail we were literally bouncing up off the seats and hitting the roof when we would hit a rock or a wash because of the shocks - kind of fun really.

The 4Runner has been working great, it's awesome in the snow! I've been out snow wheeling whenever I get the chance.

Here is the trip report from Halloween...

http://www.yotatech.com/f100/hallowe...ashing-196735/

And here are a couple pictures from this last weekend. The Thule box looks a little silly, but it is great for the snowboards and will be put in storage this spring. It might work well for some camping trips this summer, too.
