My Dream...
Ferrari 355

ferrari 348

A reality in my lifetime at some point...
The rest are street legal kit cars built with Hayabussa engines (turbo, non turbo, Hybrid V8 etc) with some approching a power/weight ratio close to the Zonda and Enzo... oh.. and they are built in your back yard... hmmmmmm...
Westfield XTR2

Radical SR3

Radical SR3 TURBO

Radical SR8 (two Hayabussa heads/internals mated together on custom crank/case to make a V8)

Caterham Super 7 or Westfield Megabusa (pretty much a replica Lotus 7 with a Busa engine!)

Ariel Atom (Not a kit car... but it is Enzo fast for under $80k... serious autogasam!!!)

As you can see... i like "fringe" cars... Hey if you are trying to go fast.... you dont have to spend $100k+. Just pick up a Wrench and do it youself!!!

The problem with the list provided is that there are only a few sports cars presented, many are "sports coupes", or over rated family cars, such as the charger, lol.
The lambos are sports cars, the GTR is a sports car, the vette, and ferraris.
As for the camaro, its a sports coupe, the WRX is finally a sports coupe (fomerly a sedan), the muscrat (cobra) is an overmodified pinto (lol), challenger is a coupe version of the charger, and the charger is a big heavy family sedan made from an outdated mercedes 300 chassis and much overrated engine. The 370z is as close to a sports car that you can get as a sports coupe.
If I had the choice and only used it in nice weather Id get the 370z from this lineup, Im sure it would outlast all the others and still work like new, and be fun to drive still in a few years.
Sorry, former Chrysler, GM, and Ford owner here, I should have learned years ago when I worked on cars.

I'm a traditionalist so consider a sports car as having two seats max and no fixed roof. My fav isn't modern (Shelby AC Cobra 427 S/C), so my choice for this thread was a car I saw at the Portland Int'l. Auto Show last February, the Spyker Aileron:

You can't be serious...
Is that how it comes stock?
Um...yeah, that's $375,000 worth of stock right there.
Did you mod it to this?
You don't go and modify a $375,000 car. Especially one that took 10 years worth of R & D to perfect. If you get caught trying to change anything on that car, Mr.Tanahashi will have your head delivered to him on a silver platter. You'd better get permission first, from him, and the car. And don't be suprised if either rejects the idea completely(I would). Besides, only a fool would even try and mess with perfection anyway.

'87 Supra turbo with an R154 swap
I'd love a MK4 Supra down the road but thanks to all the hype their prices are over twice what a comparable 300ZX TT is so it'll be quite some time until that happens..
In the meantime, my practical favorite sports car, which also doubles as my daily driver right now, is my AE86.. while they can be considered overpriced for what they are themselves they are admittedly growing rarer by the day and finding an unmolested example isn't an easy chore anymore.
This is my 85 GT-S coupe, bought bone stock and have been slowly modifying it to my tastes as I go. Not the fastest thing I've ever driven but one of the most responsive and rewarding cars I've ever owned for sure.
